About the Department

Working on Hobbies and collecting unique items serves a wide range of purposes and functions. Hobbies and Collections train the eye, create a sense of order, and help develop aesthetic appreciation. Hobbyists and Collectors can be characterized by their joyful dedication to their projects. The world of hobbies and collections can be social when hobbyists and collectors share their pleasure with each other and their neighbors and friends. The Ventura County Fair offers the pride of showing and the pleasure of seeing others’ hobbies and collections, as well as an opportunity to exchange experience and advice. Who knows? A new collection of Blue Ribbons may be your reward!

WHEN TO ENTER:
Friday, July, 27, Saturday, July 28 and Sunday, July 29, 2018 – 10:00 AM-5:00 PM

You can enter Online – at www.venturacountyfair.org beginning June 1 through July 16, 2018 until 7:00 PM.  You do not have to enter online to exhibit at the fair just bring your items on entry day.

Cases for Collections cannot be entered online you must call (805) 889-1209 to reserve a case.  Reservations taken June 3-9, 2018 between the hours of 9:00 AM-7:00 PM.  Please leave your name and call back number for confirmation.

Note: Legos are entered in the Youth Expo

WHEN TO PICK UP ENTRIES

Exhibits must remain in place for the duration of the Fair.
All items not claimed on Monday, August 14, 2017 become the property of the Ventura County Fair and will be disposed.

Superintendent
Diane Cook

Diane was born and raised in California. She has called Ventura home since 1986. She is married to John and they have a dog-daughter named Hope! Diane loves camping, rock collecting and people! Since High School, Diane has collected Mickey Mouse, Dolphins, Blown Glass, Rocks and many other items. She is an active member in the Gem & Mineral Societies in Ventura. She has been a volunteer at the Ventura County Fair for 7 years and looks forward to another year in 2016.
