The Fair is a wonderful time for families and children, but it’s a big and busy place too. It’s easy for kids to get lost in the shuffle of crowds and confusion. Here are some helpful hints to keeping your children safe and close at the fair!
The Ventura County Fair will provide children’s identification wristbands at the front gates. These wristbands will be available every day of the fair. A parent or guardian can write their phone number on the underside of their child’s wristband, aiding search efforts if that child is lost.
In addition, we encourage parents/guardians to take and store a photo of their child/children before entering the fairgrounds to assist Security in locating them if they become lost. Point out security personnel to your children. They will be identifiable by their bright yellow jackets.
Lost and Found child services are located in the Salvation Army tent across from the main gates and adjacent to the Souvenir Booth. Let your child know that the tent is a valid meeting point if you are separated from one another. Choose this location as a specific meeting point within the fairgrounds where your family can reconvene at different times throughout the day.
Children and their parents are integral members of the Ventura County Fair community. We thank you for your patronage, and wish you a happy and safe time at the Fair this summer!
