MEET THE DEPARTMENTS

Superintendent
Elzie Daniel
Hi, my name is Elzie Daniel Superintendent of Small Livestock. I’m glad to be back and looking forward to fair time. I’ve lived in the outskirts of Moorpark since 1957 (54 yrs.) on a working farm where my family raised our own food, cattle, milk cows, pigs, poultry, rabbits and a garden that covered at least ½ acre, we hardly had to go to the market.

I’ve had the pleasure to pass on the knowledge learned on the farm to anyone that asked me about it. Currently I raise a lot of the same things, as well as belonging to the local poultry club, SeaSide Feather Fanciers where I raise and show Old English Game Birds.
This year we will adding new things to the Small Livestock area stop by and see what we have done, and if you are brave enough, ask me what it is like to be raised without going to a store for food.
