About the Department
Do you paint like Picasso but nobody knows it? Do you draw like DaVinci but haven’t had a chance to show it? The Ventura County Fair is just the right place for you and your artwork!

Creating your artwork is great fun but sharing it with your neighbors and friends is what makes your creation come alive! You might even win first place!

The Amateur Art department is located in the Home Arts building where we have had the pleasure of hanging some of the finest creations from artists all over Ventura County. Showing at the Fair is often a stepping-stone for artists who have never shown their art before, and go on to show their work in shows and galleries.

You can enter drawings in any medium, paintings in oil, acrylic or watercolor, mixed media and even computer art! The many classes of artwork you can enter include abstract, animals, birds, insects, figure, portraits, flowers, trees, landscapes, still life, structures, waterscapes, whimsical cartoons, fantasy and many others!

WHEN TO ENTER
Friday, July 22, Saturday, July 23, & Sunday, July 24, 2011 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM Bring entries to the Home Arts Building

at: www.venturacountyfair.org.
Entering online speeds up the entry process – when you arrive with your entries on July 22, 23 or 24 - proceed directly to the Amateur Arts check-in area. You can enter online until July 17, 2011

WHEN TO PICK-UP ENTRIES
Monday, August 15, 2011 - 12:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Claim checks must be presented. No entry pick-up prior to August 15. Items unclaimed on August 15 become the property of the Ventura County Fair and will be disposed.
